Job Description
We are currently looking for a Full Time Copywriter/Proofreader to join our Winstar Creative Services team located at the WinStar World Casino and Resort working 8:00AM-4:30PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.Summary:Responsibilities:Writes copy for various media including, but not limited to:promotions collateral, direct mail, website, email blasts, talking points, PA scripts, Call Center scripts, web correspondence scripts, etc.Researches logistic properties of promotions, initiatives, etc.to ensure that copy clearly communicates all necessary information Assists with the development of specialized campaigns Revises, edits, and proofreads copy Performs search engine optimization techniques when developing web copy Monitors and changes advertising campaigns to change effectiveness Reviews creative content for spelling and grammar errors Research competitors and keep abreast of market trends Explores different ideas and concepts for both the visual and verbal elements in tandem with the creative team Responds to feedback in a timely manner Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner Greets and engages with a smile Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment Maintains and promotes professionalism Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g.MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.Performs all other duties as assigned Competencies:Essential:Maintain a professional tone and volume Ability to write marketing communications that are technically accurate and conform to the company's branding image and writing style guidelines is essential, entailing excellent verbal communication, writing and proofing abilities Ability to ensure all copy aligns with marketing strategies across different channels, such as social, digital, and email marketing Able to follow instructions, both written and oral Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements Must be detail-oriented Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines Works well within a team Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management Skills:Essential:Basic proficiency in Adobe Workfront for proofing Basic Computer skills Exceptional writing, research, and editing skills Intermediate skill using Microsoft Office products Skilled in operating a computer and/or other equipment related to specific role (i.e.automated currency counters, calculator, projector, binding machine, other related office equipment) Basic skill in creating PowerPoint presentations Basic skill using Word for multiple purposes Experience:Essential:2 years directly related experience Education:Essential:High School, GED or Equivalent Nonessential:Bachelors Degree in directly related field Nonessential:Communication, or related Credentials:Essential:Pass gaming background check Gaming license or permit as required by assigned position Working Conditions:Essential:Use computer up to 100% of shift Pass pre-employment drug test Nonessential:Works in an office setting Casino May work where cigarette smoking occurs Bright and Flashing lights Noisy High traffic area where people may congregate Fast-paced environment Sitting up to 100% of shift Hand-eye coordination, reach and grasp Manual dexterity Listening and hearing ability Visual acuity for detail, distance, color, depth perception Repetitive motions Sometimes lift and or carry up to 15 lbs May work evenings, weekends or holidays.
