Job Description
Core Cutter The primary duties of this position will be splitting core using a wet saw, bagging and tagging the cut samples, and organizational management of the cut samples.Other duties may include but are not limited to moving pallets of core using skid steer or pallet jack, troubleshooting sample issues, and assisting geologists and geotechnicians with various core shack and field activities.The candidate can expect to be exposed to an outdoor environment on a regular basis and will be expected to work under a wide range of environmental conditions.This position is in Hawthorne.Main Tasks and Responsibilities Safety of self and others Team player:must work well with diverse groups of people for extended periods of time Able to work independently when required Have a positive and proactive attitude towards environmental responsibility, health and safety, and respectful workplace practices Be detail oriented and strive for accuracy and consistency Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures Ensure good housekeeping in the work area at all times Additional duties may include assisting the geology staff with technical measurements and data input, and other tasks as required Qualifications and Experience:Previous experience is preferred but not necessary Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Ability to work independently and in a team environment to complete daily activities according to work schedule Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs Ability to maintain a high level of performance over the course of the entire shift Pay rate:$26-$30 DOE.
