Cost Accounting Analyst A Cost Accounting Analyst is responsible for analyzing a company's operational costs by collecting, evaluating, and reporting financial data to identify areas for cost reduction, improve efficiency, and inform strategic decision-making, typically focusing on tasks like calculating product costs, monitoring inventory levels, analyzing variances between standard and actual costs, and preparing detailed financial reports for management. We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accounting Analyst to support inventory pegging and distribution processes. This role will be responsible for analyzing cost movements, performing reconciliations, improving inventory reporting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in cost accounting, and a solid understanding of SAP in a manufacturing or logistics environment. Key Responsibilities Address costing-related inquiries from internal teams and auditors, analyzing pegging and cost fluctuations. Prepare journal entries, conduct general ledger account analysis, and reconcile inventory records. Enhance inventory reporting by analyzing material costs, labor, and overhead recalculations. Consolidate, analyze, and report inventory balances by product line, including monthly variance analysis and quarterly balance sheet classifications (RM, WIP & FG). Maintain strong internal controls, update documentation, and support internal and external audits. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and engage in cross-training initiatives. Assist in project management activities and perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed. Collaborate closely with Procurement and Operations to ensure accurate inventory costing and reporting. Qualifications Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, OR Graduate degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, OR In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in cost accounting within an operations or manufacturing environment. Strong SAP expertise, particularly in pegging and distribution within complex manufacturing or logistics settings. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Strong prioritization skills with the ability to delegate tasks effectively. Adaptability to shifting priorities and deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
