Job Description
Cost Engineer The Cost Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert in unconventional oil and gas completions cost details. This role is responsible for establishing and implementing annual budget guidance, providing support and consultation to the execution team, and performing cost and budgetary analysis. This individual must be a self-starter with project execution experience utilizing project controls and budgetary systems, and will support stim and post-stim operations. Key Responsibilities Develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and capital forecasts. Develop financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives. Provide leadership and strategic thinking to projects, including planning, cost estimating, contracting, and tracking. Manage capital cost forecasting and AFE creation software (PLEX), owning standard configurations and item rates. Support Execution Planning & Performance and Well Delivery and Well Servicing teams with data-driven analysis. Prepare and present regular financial reports on capital projects. Analyze trends of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitor for variances. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and tracking of capital expenditures. Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams. Required Qualifications Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is required. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a technical engineering role supporting stim and post-stim operations is required. Experience in unconventional oil and gas field execution (drilling, completions, operations, or facilities) is also required. Technical Skills Knowledge of PLEX or other industry-standard cost engineering software, such as Oracle Primavera Unifier or P6. Familiarity with financial systems and tools such as ERP systems, WellView, or Siteview. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Compensation & Benefits The pay rate for this position is between $80.00 and $90.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
