Job Description
NY, NY ERISA / Executive Compensation Counsel (legal capacity) Full Time Comp $250,000-275,000 + bonus One of our oldest clients here in NY, a major financial services company is seeking an ERISA counsel for their legal team. In-house in this arena is fairly rare, so take advantage of this opportunity One would be expected to ; Counsel business partners on both the commercial strategy and legal considerations related to compensation and benefits. Draft, negotiate, and review compensation structures (cash and equity) as well as employee benefits plans and related agreements. Conduct research and provide analysis on legal matters across existing business lines and prospective new initiatives within the firm. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a minimum of four years of experience advising on compensation and benefits matters, gained at a law firm and/or in-house. Significant experience drafting and negotiating complex executive compensation arrangements, particularly within investment management or broader financial services organizations, is required. Strong academic credentials, coupled with excellent analytical skills, sound judgment, and meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated ability in drafting, communication, and organization is essential. Working knowledge of employee benefits laws—including ERISA and the Affordable Care Act—is preferred, as this role will involve regular, hands-on involvement with benefits-related matters.
