Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour Cover Swim Instructor (As-Needed) – Join the Surfs Up Team! Summer 2026 Overview Surfs Up Swim Programs is looking for experienced, adaptable Swim Instructors to join our roster as Cover Instructors for Summer 2026. This is an as-needed role — you'll step in on short notice when a scheduled instructor is unavailable, or be available on-call for lessons as they arise. If you're flexible, quick to adapt, and confident jumping into a lesson with minimal prep, this role is a great fit. Responsibilities Step in for scheduled instructors on short notice or serve on-call for as-needed lessons Teach private and semi-private swim lessons to children ages 1–15, quickly assessing each student's skill level and adjusting instruction accordingly Ensure every lesson is safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate Educate students on core water safety concepts aligned with Red Cross standards Maintain a positive, encouraging presence with students and their families Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming pool environment Stay in communication with our team regarding availability and scheduling What We're Looking For At least 1 year of experience in swim instruction, coaching, or working with children (required) Ability to jump into lessons with little lead time and quickly build rapport with new students Red Cross Lifeguard and/or CPR Certification is a strong bonus — but not required to apply Confident swimmer able to demonstrate basic strokes and water rescue techniques Highly reliable, responsive, and professional — availability and communication are key in this role Friendly, patient, and adaptable — someone who brings great energy no matter the situation Why Work With Us?
