Cover Technician Job Information Date Opened 11/30/2023 Job Type: Full time Industry: Manufacturing Work Experience: 2+ City: Dallas State/Province: Texas Country: United States Zip/Postal Code: 75236 Job Description Job Title: Cover Technician Department: Product Development FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Document Control Supervisor Summary: As a Cover Technician, report directly to the Document Control Supervisor and fulfill the role of Covering Technician/CAD Designer (CT). Primary Responsibilities: Manage new styles, primary and secondary cover setups. Name and zone patterns during marker creation. Maintain COM and cover categories in Oracle, resolving BOM Usage Errors. Assign thread colors to covers and update information in Oracle. Additional Responsibilities: Correct and manipulate current patterns and styles for errors/changes. Set up and maintain style BOMs for primary and secondary materials. Cut patterns for customer service and other projects. Address special requests for customers. Handle special projects related to cutting test cloths/leather and nesting. Train and oversee the cutting of matched materials (match point). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 2 years of experience with pattern making and relevant software packages (Cut Works, AutoCAD, etc.). 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of manufacturing principles and methods. Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to perform other tasks and be cross-trained in Engineering processes. Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned. Working Conditions: Normal manufacturing environment conditions, including occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs., daily walking of one mile, and the use of safety equipment on the plant floor (closed-toe shoes, ear and eye protection as required).
