Credit Recovery Academy - Safety and Security Assistant

Summary Performs a variety of duties required to maintain a safe and secure program site; assists with the implementation of student security and supervision tasks that foster positive school and community relations; monitors buildings and grounds for compliance with speed limit, parking, and other safety regulations; supports various aspects of student activities. Qualifications Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate, supplemented by specialized safety or security environment training, with some experience in school security and currently active certification approved by the Virginia Center for School Safety. Applicants must be at least 21 years old at time of appointment. Knowledge of local county, and state rules and regulations requiring an alcohol-, drug-, weapons- and tobacco-free environment; ability to control students and maintain a healthy school environment; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
