Creek Restoration Weeding Position Employer:Mack Creek Ranch LLC Job Location:Cle Elum, WA Job Type:Part time, Seasonal Start Date:April 2026 Salary:$17.13 - $20/ hour Schedule:12-16 hours per week, Days TBD Job Description This is an exciting opportunity for an individual that is interested in natural resource stewardship and restoration.Mack Creek Ranch is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable person who enjoys working outside, individually and as part of a team, to help steward a creek restoration project on private land.This position mainly involves weeding, as well as chipping/mulching, repairing elk fencing, and assisting with irrigation maintenance.The candidate will work under supervision of the Restoration Ecologist crew lead.Primary Responsibilities: Invasive weed removal through weed whacking, hand pulling, and mowing.No herbicide will be used. Implementing land management prescriptions through manual labor and the use of equipment. Moving and spreading wood chips/mulch around plantings. Aiding team members with fence repairs and maintenance. Aiding team members with irrigation.Required Skills and Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Must be self-motivated and dependable. Comfortable working alone and as part of a team. Must be able to communicate and perform work duties professionally and respectfully with other team members and supervisors. Ability to perform basic field work and restoration tasks under the supervision of crew lead. Ability to comply with safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE as directed by ranch protocol. Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to perform all aspects of the work, including:o Working outside all day over a variety of terrain.o Able to perform physically demanding manual labor outdoors.o Able to operate 4wd vehicles (ATV, side-by-sides, etc.) o Proficient in operating a variety of hand and power tools including weed whackers, mowers, weed pullers, etc.o Lifting, bending, squatting, hiking, and repetitive movements.o Able to lift up to 50 lbs.o Work up to 8 hours a day. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate vehicles. A background check will be required. Fully vaccinated - Covid, flu, etc.Helpful Qualifications Knowledge and skills related to native and non-native plant identification. Interest in fields relating to ecology, natural resources, forestry, environmental studies, or similar interests. CPR and first-aid training.Position, Duration, and Schedule The position starts in April of 2026 and runs through September of 2026.This position is 12 to 16 hours per week.Schedule must be agreed on at time of hiring.Pay:$17.13 - $20.00 per hour Benefits:Flexible schedule On-the-job training Work Location:In person.
