Job OverviewThe Lead Youth Care Worker serves as a key leadership and support role within the CAP home.In addition to providing direct youth care and behavioral intervention, this position supports the CAP Director, assists with staff training and oversight, and ensures administrative, documentation, and operational standards are consistently met.This role requires the ability to implement behavioral management interventions, including physical escorts, restraints, seclusion, and time-out procedures, when warranted and in accordance with training, policy, and regulatory requirements.Responsibilities Implement behavioral management interventions including time-outs, seclusion, physical escorts, and restraints as warranted Maintain safety and supervision in a crisis-oriented residential environment Model healthy, appropriate behaviors in a family-style setting Teach and reinforce daily living and life skills Support individualized care and behavior management plans Provide transportation for youth as required Collaborate with CAP Director to ensure consistency and safety Maintain accurate documentation and follow all CAP policies and procedures Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities Time Management & Organization Needed for the Following:Work closely with the CAP Director to support program operations Conduct interviews with applicants and collaborate with the CAP Director and HR on hiring decisions Serve as a mentor and resource to newer staff members Conduct, track, and document on-the-job training for new employees Train staff on King's Home standards, procedures, and expectations Assist in maintaining and auditing household records, logs, and reports Ensure transition information is clearly communicated to the next team member at shift change Attend required staff meetings and trainings Immediately report all injuries and accidents per policy Assist with covering open shifts as needed Assist the CAP Director by working in different homes when required Required Qualifications If current King's Home employee must be in good standing Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a direct care position Ability to successfully complete CAP-specific training, including physical intervention techniques Must be able to utilize behavior management techniques of physical escorts and restraints when warranted Comfortable working with youth exhibiting high-risk or aggressive behaviors Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills Dependable, professional, and able to respond calmly in crisis situations 21 years of age or older High school diploma or GED Clear driving record (no speeding tickets 15mph over the limit) Clear criminal background Residential youth care Crisis intervention Behavioral health, education, or social services Must be certified in CPR, First Aid, Managing Crisis Safely (MCS) within first 30 days of hire.Preferred Experience Bachelor's Degree in related field Important Notice CAP positions require increased physical, emotional, and situational demands compared to traditional residential roles.Employees must be comfortable responding to behavioral crises and using approved physical interventions when necessary to ensure safety.Job Type:Full-time Pay:$17.58 - $22.58 per hour Benefits:403(b) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Work Location:In person.
