Job Description
HCA Healthcare is seeking a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Coordinator to support our Healthcare & Medical Services department and play a key role in delivering exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced critical care environment. As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will combine advanced bedside expertise with clinical leadership to ensure that critically ill patients and their families receive safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care. In this role, you will function as a clinical resource and role model for the intensive care and step-down care teams, coordinating daily patient care activities and collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. You will help prioritize patient care needs, support complex clinical decision-making, and facilitate timely interventions, transfers, and discharges to optimize patient outcomes and throughput. You will oversee the delivery of nursing care on assigned shifts, assisting with patient assessments, developing and updating plans of care, and ensuring adherence to clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. You will provide hands-on support with high-acuity interventions such as hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, titration of vasoactive medications, and management of post-operative and medically complex patients. As a visible leader at the bedside, you will mentor and coach nurses and support staff, fostering clinical competence, critical thinking, and a culture of safety. Working within HCA Healthcare’s culture of compassion, teamwork, and learning, you will promote effective communication among team members, encourage collaboration, and help resolve clinical and operational issues as they arise. You will participate in quality improvement initiatives, including monitoring key performance indicators, reviewing clinical outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping to implement evidence-based practices that elevate the standard of critical care. You will support initiatives focused on infection prevention, patient safety, accurate documentation, and adherence to sepsis, stroke, cardiac, and other time-sensitive care protocols. In addition to your clinical and leadership responsibilities, you will play a vital role in patient and family education, helping patients and their loved ones understand the plan of care, critical illness processes, and discharge needs. You will advocate for patients and ensure that care decisions align with their goals, values, and preferences. You will also collaborate with case management, social work, and ancillary departments to support safe transitions of care and continuity across the healthcare continuum. HCA Healthcare offers you the opportunity to grow and thrive in your career with access to ongoing education, specialty training, leadership development programs, and a broad network of facilities. You will be supported by a leadership team that values innovation, integrity, and professional development, and you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on critically ill patients and the broader healthcare community. Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package—which typically includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement savings options such as a 401(k), and paid time off—help support your well-being while you care for others. This position is ideal for an experienced critical care nurse who is passionate about direct patient care and eager to take on expanded responsibilities in coordination, mentorship, and quality improvement. As a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Coordinator at HCA Healthcare, you will help shape the standard of care in intensive and high-acuity settings while advancing your own professional growth in a leading healthcare organization.
