JobID:1680 Position Type:Substitute/Crossing Guard Substitute Date Posted:2/4/2026 Location:District Date Available:ASAP Closing Date:Open until filled Crossing Guard Substitute Windsor Locks School District Position Start Date:ASAP Application Closing Date:Open until filled Summary:To assist in the safety of the students of the Windsor Locks Public Schools.Please note this is a substitute position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND Responsibilities:Assist students for the purpose of safe access to and from school using your designated crosswalk area.Monitor/watch for gaps in traffic and walk students across the roadway or intersection while holding a stop sign in such a manner as to be visible to approaching vehicles.Crossing guards are not to engage in traffic direction or control.Communicates and enforces proper traffic and crossing rules to students for the purpose of ensuring their understanding and the potential consequences of violation.Reports observations and/or incidents relating to specific students (e.g.accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information for follow up by appropriate administrative personnel.Report unsafe behavior of children to school Principal.Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals, and report to the School Principal.Any incident that is considered life threatening and or imminent danger call 911 immediately!
