Career & Technical Education Teacher Term of Employment: Ten Months Reports to: Principal or Designee Purpose: The Career & Technical Education teacher provides leadership in an educational environment that encourages and nurtures learning for all students; provides supervision to students in a variety of school related settings; monitors and evaluates student outcomes; develops, selects or modifies lesson plans to ensure all student needs are met; maintains appropriate records and follows all policies and procedures of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) and Rowan-Salisbury Schools. Responsibilities: Knowledge of NC curriculum, techniques for integrating curriculum, Rowan-Salisbury Schools' policies, and effective instructional practices. Understanding of the teaching/learning process. Participates in district and school-based professional development activities Provides rigorous and relevant instruction on approved hands-on curriculum in the content area and general work-place readiness Administers a variety of student assessment tools Develops and maintains positive and cooperative interactions and communications with parents, colleagues and community Maintains accurate and complete records as required by the district and state laws Maintains and updates industry certifications Collaborates with core content teachers on common instructional objectives, integration and alignment Develop lesson plans based on the North Carolina Career & Technical Education Essential Standards document. Utilize classroom management techniques conducive to an effective classroom climate. Use appropriate techniques and strategies which promote and enhance critical, creative and innovative thinking capabilities of students.
