Greene County Schools Career and Technical Education Job Description Family and Consumer Science Culinary Arts Teacher Term: 10-month Education, Training, and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Family and Consumer Sciences with 2 years’ experience -OR- Associate degree from an accredited institution in with 4 years’ experience -OR- Post-Secondary Culinary Arts Certificate with 6 years’ experience License Requirements Must hold or be eligible to hold a valid Family and Consumer Sciences Education – General license (710) -OR- Family and Consumer Sciences Education – Foods and Nutrition/Culinary Arts license (716). Key Responsibilities: Provide engaging, standards-based instruction in Culinary Arts & Hospitality I, II, and III courses. Manage and operate the Ram Café, including menu planning, budgeting, food preparation, scheduling, and customer service – all in collaboration with students. Facilitate hands-on learning experiences in a safe and organized culinary lab environment. Prepare students for and administer the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification exam. Serve as co-advisor for the FCCLA chapter, planning and facilitating chapter meetings, events, and student participation in leadership conferences and competitions. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that supports student learning and growth. Maintain and oversee kitchen safety protocols, inventory, and equipment upkeep. Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and community partners to promote Career and Technical Education (CTE). Integrate real-world applications, project-based learning, and work-based learning opportunities into the curriculum. Maintain accurate records of student progress, credential attainment, and participation in school-based enterprise.
