Job Description Position Summary CEMML is seeking Cultural Resources (CR) Support personnel, duty-stationed in Guam, to provide technical support to the Joint Region Marianas (JRM) Cultural Resources Manager (CRM). Responsibilities include on-site fieldwork and GIS data management for JRM archaeological sites. Field archaeologist(s) will visit previously recorded sites in Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) — including Tinian, Rota, and Saipan — to document site conditions and update a GIS database dashboard. The CR Support position will also conduct condition assessments to identify and document potential impacts from military training and testing within JRM and the CNMI. This is a full-time position based primarily in Guam, with potential deployment to other locations within the JRM Area of Responsibility (AOR), including nearby islands in the CNMI. Essential Job Duties: Data Quality Control: QA/QC Field Data from Survey 123 into Arc GIS Online feature classes supporting Task 6 of the award Data Management and Cartography: Query data, clean data, and produce basic maps supporting other tasks in the award Field Work: Assist /support other archaeologists in the field for task 4, 9, 11, and 12 Curation: Assist/support CEMML CR specialists in curation needs with JRM installations (NBG, AFB, and MCCB) meet the goals and objectives defined in task 7 of the SOW. Administrative: Assist/support CEMML CR Specialist and Project Director with administrative duties related to consultation for Section 106 of the NHPA with SHPO. Other related duties Supervision: This position does not supervise. Conditions of Employment: Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) Must be able to comply with all applicable regulations to obtain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) and public trust clearance; required at a minimum to complete a NACI/SF85 and successfully pass a federal background check to remain eligible for employment by CSU. Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date. Legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Education or experience in the field of interest. Preferred Qualifications BS/BA program in archaeology, anthropology, history, cultural resource management, historic preservation, or other related fields (enrolled or completed) Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or related field Proficiency in ESRI GIS software (ArcPRO and AGOL ). Demonstrated experience in curation, cultural resources fieldwork, and technical report writing. Working expertise and knowledge of U.S. federal historic preservation laws and regulations governing cultural resource management, including Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act ( NHPA ). Experience working with GPS units in the field. Strong written communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a wide range of data and meet deadlines. Previous work experience in a highly structured, hierarchical workplace with a well-defined chain-of-command.
