Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.This role is essential in supporting the overall operations of our organization by providing high-quality custodial services in both commercial and residential settings.Prior janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance experience is preferred, especially in floor care, industrial cleaning, or buffing.The Custodian will play a vital role in upholding our standards of cleanliness and safety across all areas.Responsibilities Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness standards.Conduct specialized floor care such as buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors to ensure a professional appearance.Maintain restrooms, kitchens, and common areas by sanitizing surfaces and replenishing supplies.Handle industrial cleaning tasks which may include cleaning machinery or large equipment as needed.Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (residential painting experience is a plus), and troubleshooting issues related to cleanliness or safety.Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols.Follow established health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience preferred; familiarity with commercial cleaning or industrial cleaning is advantageous.Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing.Experience with facilities maintenance is a plus.Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively.Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following instructions carefully.Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and handling cleaning equipment.Prior experience in residential painting or general maintenance is beneficial but not required.This Custodian position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to maintaining a clean and safe environment while developing skills in facilities maintenance and custodial services.Mineral County Commission is an equal opportunity employer.Pay:From $15.00 per hour Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Work Location:In person.
