Job SummaryWe are seeking an energetic and inspiring Dance Team Director and several dedicated and COMMITTED performers to lead, motivate, and even add to our dance squad for new heights! In this dynamic role, you will serve as a passionate leader, choreographer, and mentor, fostering a vibrant team environment that celebrates creativity, teamwork, and excellence.Your enthusiasm for dance and leadership skills will help cultivate a positive atmosphere where team members can thrive both on and off the stage.This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the next generation of dancers while honing your own skills in choreography, team management, and performance (Director).As a dance team performer, you will commit to a full one year round season or more, as well as learning choreography taught by the main Director, and multiple other choreographers for the team, have the ability to perform in front of large crowds, and represent the Pitbulls Football and basketball teams as an ambassador for the community.Responsibilities Lead rehearsals, ensuring all team members are engaged, prepared, and motivated to perform at their best Develop innovative dance routines and choreography that align with team themes and performance goals Foster a supportive environment by mentoring team members in dance techniques, stage presence, and teamwork Coordinate team schedules for practices, performances, competitions, and community events Manage costume selections, makeup coordination, and stage logistics to ensure seamless performances Promote positive behavior management within the team while encouraging creativity and discipline Collaborate with other departments or event organizers to plan performances that showcase the team's talents effectively Requirements Proven experience in dancing styles such as ballet, pro style sports Pom, pro style sports jazz, hip hop, sassy jazz, and performance style with a strong foundation in choreography Demonstrated leadership ability in managing groups or teams, preferably within a dance or performing arts setting Knowledge of curriculum development for dance classes or workshops is a plus Excellent classroom management skills to maintain focus during rehearsals and performances Experience working with children or young adults in educational or extracurricular environments Strong understanding of childhood development principles relevant to early childhood education or preschool settings Skills in photography or stage lighting are advantageous for capturing performances and promoting the team's activities This role requires a dedicated individual passionate about dance education, team leadership, and fostering a lively community atmosphere.If you thrive on inspiring others through movement and leadership--this is your chance to make an impactful difference!
