About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Analyst to join our team remotely, with occasional travel to Albany, NY. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in establishing and operationalizing data governance frameworks across a large public sector environment. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement policies, standards, and controls that enhance data quality, accountability, and consistency. You will support the creation of metadata and stewardship practices, facilitate governance meetings, and help translate strategic data initiatives into practical, actionable processes. The ideal candidate will be an organized communicator and a clear writer, capable of producing comprehensive documentation and facilitating stakeholder engagement effectively. This position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $135,000, with the understanding that compensation is commensurate with experience. Qualifications Associate’s degree or a combination of relevant education and experience 5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or related fields 3+ years of experience drafting policies, standards, procedures, or formal governance documentation 2+ years supporting governance bodies, working groups, committees, or stakeholder meetings Experience translating strategic objectives into operational processes, controls, and deliverables Knowledge of metadata management, business glossaries, data stewardship, or similar frameworks Strong project coordination skills, including action item tracking, meeting facilitation, and documentation Excellent written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail Responsibilities Translate data governance strategy into clear, actionable processes, standards, and controls Draft, refine, and socialize data governance policies, standards, and standard operating procedures Support governance forums such as councils, work groups, and committees by preparing agendas, documenting discussions, and maintaining decision logs Define and document metadata standards; support master data management and reference data processes Track action items, organize meetings, facilitate discussions, and manage follow-up communications to ensure progress Develop implementation plans and roadmaps for data management and governance initiatives Create and maintain business glossaries and metadata management tools Develop stewardship RACI matrices, training materials, and communication artifacts to promote governance practices Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and adoption of data governance standards Produce high-quality, well-structured documentation and deliverables with minimal revisions Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Remote work flexibility with occasional travel to Albany, NY Opportunity to work on impactful projects within the public sector Collaborative and innovative work environment Professional development and growth opportunities Equal Opportunity Cloud and Things is an equal opportunity employer.
