Job Description
Job Responsibilities Hardware Installation & Maintenance Install, configure, and maintain physical servers, storage systems, and network devices. Perform regular hardware diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and equipment replacements. Rack, stack, and cable data center equipment according to industry standards. Network Support Assist with setup and maintenance of network infrastructure (switches, routers, patch panels). Troubleshoot connectivity issues at the hardware level (LAN/WAN, cabling, ports). Work with network teams to implement changes or upgrades. Systems Monitoring & Troubleshooting Perform site inspections, Daily/Weekly walkthrough and equipment audits to ensure operational compliance and safety. Monitor the health and performance of systems using monitoring tools. Quickly respond to and resolve alarms, outages, and hardware failures. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues in a timely manner. Conduct root cause analysis and document resolutions. Power & Cooling Management Monitor and support critical power infrastructure (UPS, PDUs, generators). Maintain proper cooling standards by working with HVAC systems and airflow designs. Ensure uptime through environmental monitoring and response (e.g., temperature, humidity). Security & Compliance Enforce physical security policies, access controls, and visitor protocols. Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal audit requirements. Maintain documentation for access logs, equipment inventory, and changes. Documentation & Inventory Maintain detailed records of hardware configurations, asset inventory, cabling diagrams, and incidents. Keep documentation updated for standard operating procedures (SOPs). Track spare parts and coordinate procurement with supply chain teams. Collaboration & Support Provide hands-on support to remote engineering, operations, and vendor teams. Assist in deployments, migrations, and data center expansion projects. Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and RMAs (Return Material Authorizations). Upgrades & Optimization Participate in capacity planning, hardware refreshes, and performance optimization. Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, or decommissions. On-Call & Emergency Response Be available for on-call rotations or emergency interventions. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to HCL policies.
