Job Summary Camp Nature Program, Head Specialist (Stamford, CT) Job Description:Traditional Day Camp in search of an enthusiastic Head Nature Program Specialist.We are looking for that special someone who can combine the love of the environment and sharing information in an outdoor classroom.Program Dates are June 22--August 14th.Responsibilities include:Create FUN environmental and nature based lesson plans campers ages 3 - 14 (grouped by age) twice per week for 30 minutes each time.Managing assistant nature specialist Work alongside Head Counselors, Supervisors and Directors Examples of past activities are exploration of various nature topics with an associated hands-on craft: Bees - Frogs - Trees with leaf differentiation - Building Fires, fire safety and S'mores - Bugs - Clean Environmental - Biodegradable items and understanding the science behind it - Animal footprints - Birds Ideal candidate will have:A passion for the outdoors! A degree in Education, Environmental Education, Biology, Outdoor leadership, or current college student studying in these fields Experience leading and teaching children in a camp or school setting Strong critical thinking skills, ability to problem solve, works well in a team and communicates effectively.We offer:Competitive Salary Historically, our Nature Specialists have stayed for many years and become part of the Camp Family.Please only apply if you think you are the one!!!
