JawFish Restaurant (11707 NE Airport Way, Portland, OR 97220) is building on a great opening and this is your chance to get in on the ground floor of an exciting project. JawFish is part of a bold, large-scale revitalization project, the hotel next door is being completely renovated into a dual-branded Hyatt, with the hotel openings planned in July. While the hotel project takes shape, JawFish and our meetings space were the first to open, setting the stage for the properties exciting new chapter. We are hiring Servers to join our restaurant team. If you re passionate about food, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to help shape the identity of a new restaurant, this is the place for you. A Server is an essential back-of-house team member responsible for executing all foundational tasks that ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently during service. This role requires meticulous organization, attention to detail, a focus on food safety, and clear support of the line cooks. Key responsibilities typically include: Greeting customers : Welcoming guests warmly, providing them with menus, and answering any questions about the menu items or specials. Processing payments: Handling cash and credit card transactions accurately and providing change or receipts. Consistently upsells both food and beverage items when taking the guest's order. Being attentive to guests needs, such as keeping beverages full, serving condiments before food is delivered, checking back with guests within two minutes of delivering food to insure guest satisfaction, anticipating guests needs before being asked.. Cleanliness & Organization: Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all areas, including timely cleaning of service tools, surfaces, and equipment. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, great at sticking up conversation, and is capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment while actively supporting the needs of the guests.
