Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required.Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A full-time opportunity is available for a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year, serving K-12 students.This itinerant role involves working across two sites within the San Francisco, CA area, with mileage reimbursement provided for travel between locations.The position offers an engaging environment focused on supporting students with hearing impairments to succeed academically and socially.Key Responsibilities:Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grades K-12 Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Provide consultative services and training to families and school personnel on hearing loss-related needs Travel between two assigned school sites to maintain consistent support for students (mileage reimbursed) Qualifications:Valid teaching credential for Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialist or equivalent certification Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting Strong knowledge of language development, communication methods, and assistive technologies for hearing-impaired students Ability to manage an itinerant caseload effectively across multiple school locations Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams Location:San Francisco, CA (Itinerant assignment between two school sites) This full-time position allows for meaningful impact in students lives by promoting accessibility and inclusion within mainstream educational environments.If you possess the qualifications and dedication to support diverse learners with hearing differences, submit your application today to explore this rewarding career opportunity.Compensation for this position ranges from $35.00 to $48.00.Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here.This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.#cjp.
