Job Description
Tague Lumber, a trusted name in building materials since 1908, is seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Delivery Driver to join our Transportation & Logistics team in the Transportation & Shipping industry. As a Delivery Driver, you will represent Tague Lumber on job sites and at customer locations across the greater Philadelphia area, ensuring that builders, remodelers, and other clients receive their materials accurately, on time, and in excellent condition. In this role, you will safely operate company vehicles—typically box trucks or flatbed trucks—to pick up, load, secure, and deliver lumber, hardware, and other building products. You will follow assigned routes and delivery schedules, verify orders against delivery tickets, and obtain required signatures or proof of delivery while providing courteous, professional service at every stop. You will be responsible for performing daily vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance needs, and following all DOT, company, and safety regulations to ensure the secure transport of materials. The Delivery Driver will regularly assist with loading and unloading materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment, taking care to prevent product damage and personal injury. You may support the yard team with organizing stock, staging outbound deliveries, and maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment when not on the road. Clear communication with dispatch, yard associates, and customers is essential to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues, and report delays, discrepancies, or safety concerns. Tague Lumber fosters a supportive culture built on teamwork, growth, and a strong commitment to service. The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual, and customer‑oriented, with a positive attitude and the ability to work cooperatively with drivers, yard staff, and sales teams. A solid safety record, attention to detail, and respect for company equipment and customer property are critical. Candidates should be comfortable working in an active yard and field/on‑site environment, including exposure to varying weather conditions and the physical demands of lifting and moving building materials. This position offers the opportunity to grow with an established company that has served the Philadelphia construction and remodeling community since 1908. If you take pride in safe driving, enjoy working with building materials, and are committed to excellent customer service, Tague Lumber would like to hear from you.
