Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. This role combines front desk administrative support with clinical assistance, ensuring a seamless patient experience from check-in to treatment. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional care and service. You will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, insurance verification, and medical records while also supporting dental procedures with professionalism and efficiency. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, coordinating multiple schedules efficiently Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and managing dental supplies Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on treatment plans, post-operative care, and billing procedures while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills Support medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and Medicare claims to ensure timely reimbursement Handle multi-line phone systems, patient intake forms, filing of dental records, and other clerical duties with precision and professionalism Ensure compliance with health information management standards by maintaining confidentiality of patient data and adhering to HIPAA guidelines Experience Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology such as care plans and dental terminology is a plus. Proven experience in dental administrative support including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical billing Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations Experience with dental coding and documentation review ensures accuracy in billing processes Excellent customer service skills combined with strong organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment Join us in making a difference by providing outstanding dental care while supporting our patients through every step of their journey.
