Job Overview We are seeking an upbeat, positive individual that that is excited about dentistry! The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice. Duties Assist dentist during a variety of dental procedures. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained at all times. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and safety. Certification required. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Mogo is the currently used software. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions in friendly, understandable terms. Maintain infection control protocols and ensure the practice adheres to all safety standards related to medical imaging and general dentistry procedures. Support front desk operations by handling dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient inquiries when needed. Experience Doctor has built this practice over for over 20 years with very special compliant patients. Prior experience working in a dental environment is required, with familiarity in general dentistry. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Mogo for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and assist with billing processes. Hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, infection control practices, and aseptic procedures is required. Strong understanding of clinical procedures such as vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and chairside assisting across various specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics. Excellent communication skills combined with a professional attitude to foster positive patient interactions and teamwork. This is one of the most important personality traits we are looking for. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is highly desirable to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
