Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dental Front Desk Leader to oversee the front office operations of our busy dental clinic. This pivotal role combines leadership, administrative expertise, and exceptional customer service to ensure a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills, capable of managing a dynamic team while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. As a key member of our team, you will champion efficient clinic workflows, foster a welcoming environment, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the front desk team, providing training, guidance, and motivation to ensure outstanding patient service. Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, optimizing daily patient flow. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Coordinate patient intake processes, including new patient registration, medical history updates, and appointment confirmations via multi-line phone systems. Facilitate communication between patients and clinical staff by demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and professional interpersonal skills. Ensure all front desk operations adhere to office policies and procedures related to health information management, medical coding standards, and documentation accuracy. Skills Extensive experience with dental office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and CPT coding. Proven ability to manage medical collections effectively while maintaining positive patient relationships. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Exceptional organizational skills with experience in filing, document review, and health information management. Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic or dental office experience is essential; familiarity with dental terminology such as care plans and intake procedures is a plus. Strong customer service orientation combined with professional phone etiquette and effective multi-line phone system handling. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards along with experience in medical administrative support roles such as scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk supervision.
