Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their insurance information, and assist with intake procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Athenahealth Schedule appointments accurately and manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and perform insurance verification to ensure timely reimbursements Maintain accurate medical records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Handle medical billing and collections efficiently using medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10) and medical terminology knowledge Manage front desk operations including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining organized patient files Support office management tasks such as appointment reminders, patient follow-up calls, and general clerical support Qualifications Proven experience in a dental or medical office environment with strong familiarity of dental terminology and clinic procedures Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Meditech, Epic or Athenahealth; experience with eClinicalWorks or other EHR systems is a plus Knowledge of insurance verification processes, medical billing, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to navigate multiple software platforms efficiently Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and health information management Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations Previous dental office or clinic experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and office management practices is a plus Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards while maintaining confidentiality Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering outstanding dental care!
