Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Dentist, the Dental Hygienist provides comprehensive periodontal care. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Educates patients regarding dental procedures, home care and post-op instructions. Monitors and reinforces instrument sterilization and operatory disinfection and barrier control. Documents procedures in patient EHR. Reviews patient’s health histories. Provides comprehensive periodontal care to patients including scaling, root planning, prophylaxis and education. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education/Licensing/Training: · High School Diploma or Equivalent. · Satisfactory completion of accredited RDH program. · Registered dental hygienist license and x-ray certification/license. · Current CPR certification. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: · Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. · Sensitivity to the needs and situations of a multi-cultural, low-income population and a desire to work with this population. · Basic computer skills and familiarity with front office procedures preferred. · Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables. · Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form. · Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team. · Ability to problem solve and be self-motivated with an acute attention to detail. · One year experience in dental office or health center, preferred. · Must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and AVH policies. · Must have excellent writ
