Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Assistant to join our team. This vital role requires a professional with strong administrative skills, excellent patient service abilities, and familiarity with dental office procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, coordinating patient appointments, verifying insurance, and supporting overall clinic efficiency. This position offers an engaging environment where your organizational talents and healthcare knowledge will contribute to delivering exceptional patient care and smooth office management. Duties Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding customer service while managing the front desk operations. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring optimal patient flow. Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing procedures accurately utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Maintain comprehensive medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Assist with medical documentation review, coding , and billing processes to support accurate dental administrative support. Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and effectively. Facilitate intake procedures for new patients, including data entry and collection of necessary documentation. Support office management tasks such as filing, maintaining medical records, and coordinating clinic operations to ensure a seamless workflow. Utilize computer skills including Microsoft Office suite for documentation, scheduling, and correspondence related to health information management. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate care plans are documented and communicated effectively. Experience Proven experience in a dental office environment is essential, with familiarity in clinic operations and front desk responsibilities. Candidates should possess extensive knowledge of dental billing, coding , insurance verification processes, systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or eClinicalWorks. Experience working with health information management systems like Meditech or Epic is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills coupled with excellent communication abilities to handle patient interactions professionally. Bilingual proficiency is a plus for serving diverse patient populations. Prior experience in dental clinic settings will be advantageous. A background in dental terminology, HIPAA compliance standards, and office management practices will support success in this role.
