The DCAO will serve as a senior advancement leader and a strategic partner, providing day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the fund development function. This role is pivotal in ensuring the disciplined execution of the advancement strategy, strong team performance, and progress toward philanthropic goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating the advancement strategy into action, building accountability structures, and fostering a culture of philanthropy. Key responsibilities include strategic fund development leadership, team management, fundraising operations, campaign planning, and donor engagement. The DCAO will also be expected to manage a personal portfolio of high-capacity donors and support Board engagement. Applicants for the DCAO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a CFRE designation preferred. A minimum of 10 years' of progressive fund development experience, including at least 5 years' in a senior leadership or management role, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in securing major gifts, building and scaling high-performing advancement teams, and developing fundraising infrastructure. Strong communication skills, the ability to build cross-functional relationships, and a commitment to the mission and values of the organization are essential. The role demands a leader with high emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, change-driven environment.
