Wapello County Sheriff's Office Hiring:Full-Time Deputy Sheriff (2 Positions) 01/26/2026 The Wapello County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for two (2) full-time Deputy Sheriff positions .All minimum Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) hiring standards apply.The hiring process will include an oral interview, MMPI testing, and a thorough background investigation . Certification & Testing Requirements:Applications should be turned in immediately. Non-ILEA certified applicants must successfully pass the POST written examination and physical fitness testing . ILEA-certified officers with a break in law enforcement service of 180 days or more must pass the ILEA physical fitness standards . Applicants not currently ILEA certified will be contacted by the Sheriff's Office to schedule POST and physical testing . Only applications received before February 26th, 2026, will be eligible for the next testing date.Physical and POST Testing will take place Friday, March 13th, 2026.
