Design Engineer Location: On-Site Hodges, SC Interview- 1 round virtual interview Position s Contributions to Work Group : Design foundry tooling in Creo software using standards in place and best practices for No-bake molding process with the objective to improve quality and reduce lead time on tooling construction Typical task breakdown: RFQ tooling, design new pattern tooling, resolve casting issues, re-gate, simulate, and all other tasks as needed. Interaction with team Interact with managers on directions and priorities of workflow. Interact with Tool designers and Engineers for tool build, process flow. Interact with Pattern Makers for tool build direction. Team Structure Managers, Foundry Tool Designer, Manufacturing Engineer, Programmer, Pattern Makers, Pattern Technicians. Work environment Foundry production setting. Cold in winter, Hot in Summer Common office computer desk setting Shop floor environment. Education & Experience Required: Years of experience: 5 years of relevant experiences Degree requirement: Associate or Bachelor. Do you accept internships as job experience: No Top 3 Skills: Foundry Engineer Experience. (Tools Quotation, Casting Scrap defects analysis & resolution, Foundry process knowledge, no-bake process, cold box process) Foundry tooling Design Experience. (Pattern and core boxes, Complex modeling, intuitive knowledge of P/L, offsets, clearances, layout in tool build, no-bake process, cold box process) Creo modeling and flow simulation analysis using SolidCast Additional Technical Skills (Required) Strong CAD skills (Creo prefers). Machining print reading and geometric tolerance understanding Casting simulation experiences (SolidCast prefers) (Desired) CNC milling knowledge Soft Skills (Required) Able to work with and direct suppliers on Tooling Build Projects Communicate and work well with all levels of the facility. (Desired) - Disqualifiers/Red Flags/Overqualifications : No Foundry experiences No Tool design experiences with CAD
