Job Title: Designer and Drafter – Electrical (Revit/BIM) Job Description This role focuses on preparing high-quality electrical drawings and construction documents using Revit (BIM) for building projects. You will collaborate closely with electrical engineers and other design disciplines to develop coordinated, accurate, and well-organized documents that support all phases of design and construction. Responsibilities Prepare detailed electrical drawings and construction documents using Revit (BIM) for building projects. Assist electrical engineers with the design and layout of power distribution systems, including switchboards and switchgear. Support the design and layout of lighting and lighting control systems for various building types. Contribute to the design and layout of emergency and standby power systems. Assist with the design and layout of fire alarm and low-voltage systems, including access control where applicable. Develop plans, schedules, details, and diagrams from engineering concepts, sketches, and redlines. Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural disciplines to ensure fully integrated building systems. Revise and update drawings throughout all phases of design and construction document production based on feedback and design changes. Support QA/QC standards and ensure that all drawings meet firm and project requirements for accuracy, clarity, and consistency. Participate in coordination and design review meetings as needed to resolve design issues and maintain project alignment. Organize drawing sets and maintain clear documentation to support efficient project delivery. Manage multiple drafting and design tasks simultaneously while meeting established project deadlines. Essential Skills Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent field experience. At least 2 years of experience in electrical drafting and design for buildings. Proficiency in Revit for electrical design and drafting (required). Understanding of electrical building systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and low-voltage systems. Ability to interpret and produce construction documents with a strong focus on accuracy. Strong attention to detail and drawing organization to maintain clear and consistent documentation. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet project deadlines. Effective collaboration skills for coordinating with engineers and other design disciplines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with AutoCAD for electrical and mechanical design is a plus. Familiarity with fire alarm system design and documentation. Knowledge of access control and other low-voltage systems in building environments. Exposure to short circuit studies or related electrical analysis is beneficial. Experience coordinating electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural teams. Comfort working in a technology-driven, forward-thinking design environment. Work Environment This position typically follows a 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule in an office-based, cubicle-style setup. The team operates in a hybrid workplace within a brand-new, modern office that emphasizes forward-thinking, technology-driven design practices. You will work primarily with Revit and may also use AutoCAD and other design tools as needed.
