SUMMARY: The Design Consultant works closely with clients in the showroom and creates an individualized design experience that will allow them to personalize their home to their specific tastes and lifestyles. The primary responsibility of a Design Consultant is to educate and provide professional advice to clients on the appearances and functionality of all interior finish products. Design Consultants must have the ability to guide clients through different selections based on style, quality, and price. The ideal Design Consultant will have natural talent and a predisposition to design, along with an openness to being trained around skills that will ensure we exceed the expectations of our clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Professional customer service for customers calling and visiting the Design Gallery Assisting clients with making selections to customize their home Entering customer information/selections into computer system Prepare designer selection package that includes drawing details Coordinate with home builder to confirm features, options, and upgrades REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent customer service skills Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Detail oriented, self-disciplined, and organized with focus on excellent follow-up Willingness to learn and adapt Ability to deal with conflict & set expectations Great listening skills and creative problem solving with the ability to provide a solution Must be a team-player with an enthusiastic attitude Effective communication skills and a sense of urgency High level of integrity Good time management skills EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Prior design related experience with high-end home builders Possess natural talent and a predisposition to design PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift 1-10lbs occasionally BENEFITS: Medical, Dental and Vision coverage 401K Paid Holidays Vacation and Personal Time Employee Appreciation Events On-Site Gym Facility This is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
