Job Description
Desk Clerk Mixed Duties The incumbent will work under the direction of the Guest House manager. The Desk Clerk will interview incoming guests to determine their status in order to assign appropriate quarters and answers questions pertaining to rules and regulations governing the assignment and use of quarters; issues room keys. Responsibilities Makes customer service number one priority Deals positively with guests Looks out for the safety and well-being of guests Greets and checks-in/out guests efficiently Keeps the lobby and coffee cart tidy Conducts floor checks periodically Responsible for responding to complaints in a positive manner and resolving the issues. Additional Duties: As needed or not more than 25%: Assist the hotel manager and housekeeping department with the cleaning and sanitizing of guest rooms. Cleaning and sanitizing include the following: Understand chemical usage to clean/service guest rooms and safe storing of chemicals. Dusting and make of beds & rollaway beds. Ensure rooms are vacant clean for arrival and/or serviced properly. Install Packn' Plays and rollaway beds; includes making the rollaway beds with clean linen. Other duties as assigned. You will be evaluated for this position based on how well you meet the qualifications below. Your resume/application must demonstrate the required experience/education. Qualifications Required Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide at the level necessary to complete required reports. Ability to work as a team player. Read, write, and speak fluent English to communicate effectively with guests and staff. The aptitude to handle guest interactions with tact and patience. A background clearance will be conducted after hire. Applicant must pass this clearance successfully. Continued employment is contingent on favorable background check Physically able to lift 25lbs and carry for a reasonable distance. The capacity to climb, bend, lift, push, and pull as required to complete tasks. Ability to stand and work long hours.
