Job Description Job Description Summary Job Summary Position Details Job Title: Developer Relations Engineer Company: Qdrant Location: San Francisco, CA (Remote) Team: Developer Relations About The Company Qdrant is an open-source vector search engine powering the next generation of AI applications (semantic search, RAG, AI agents). Recently raised $50M in Series B funding. Trusted by global leaders including Canva, HubSpot, Tripadvisor, Bosch, and Deutsche Telekom. Role Overview An individual contributor role split approximately 60% hands-on technical work and 40% community, content, and speaking . You will empower developers to build sophisticated AI applications through high-quality content, world-class demos, and authentic community engagement. Key Responsibilities Building Demos: Develop open-source "showcase" applications, including end-to-end RAG pipelines and recommendation engines. Applied Innovation: Prototype new use cases for vector search using emerging AI patterns (e.g., Long-context RAG, Agentic workflows). Content Creation: Write technical blog posts, record video tutorials, and create educational resources. Technical Events: Lead presence at hackathons, workshops, and mentoring. Public Speaking: Deliver presentations and live coding sessions at industry conferences. Community & Social Engagement: Serve as a "first responder" on platforms like Discord and GitHub; support developer needs internally. Local Leadership: Host meetups and act as the primary contact for the local AI scene. Requirements Technical Depth: Strong coding background in Python, Rust, Typescript, or Go. Interest in vector search, embeddings, and LLMs. Communication Mastery: Ability to explain complex technical architecture clearly in writing and on stage. Local Presence: Plugged into the local tech community or eager to lead within it. Creative Mindset: Ability to create content and demonstrate features through code and storytelling.
