Job Description
Industrial Development Manager Los Angeles, CA | Real Estate Development Bullpen is partnering with a growing real estate development platform to recruit a Development Manager to help lead the execution of ground-up development projects in Southern California. This role offers the opportunity to join a well-capitalized, entrepreneurial development firm backed by long-term equity partners. The Development Manager will play a key role across the entire development lifecycle, including entitlements, consultant coordination, permitting, and construction oversight. The position will work closely with firm leadership and external partners to move projects from site control through construction and delivery. The Role The Development Manager will be responsible for managing the pre-development and entitlement process for new development projects, coordinating with government agencies, consultants, and contractors while ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants hands-on exposure to the full development lifecycle in a small, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the entitlement and permitting process for development projects Coordinate with city planning departments, consultants, engineers, architects, and attorneys Manage third-party consultants including civil, structural, environmental, and design teams Create and maintain project schedules and entitlement timelines Coordinate with general contractors and owner’s representatives during pre-construction and construction phases Oversee project budgets and track development costs Assist with contractor selection and bid package preparation Secure required building permits and regulatory approvals Provide ongoing development and construction oversight through project completion Qualifications 5+ years of real estate development experience Experience managing projects through entitlements, permitting, and construction Strong understanding of the real estate development lifecycle from land acquisition through construction Experience coordinating consultants, municipalities, and contractors Strong project management and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field Preferred experience: Experience with ground-up development projects Familiarity with Southern California entitlement processes What Makes This Opportunity Unique Opportunity to join a growing entrepreneurial development platform Exposure to the full development lifecycle rather than a siloed role Work closely with senior leadership and decision-makers Backed by long-term equity partners with committed capital High level of responsibility and ownership across projects
