This Development Manager role is execution‑focused, partnering closely with a senior market leader to deliver a high volume of single‑tenant and small‑format retail projects from entitlement through disposition. The Development Manager will report directly to a senior Development Leader and will take full ownership of project execution for retail developments sourced by the platform. Lead projects through entitlement, permitting, design, construction, lease‑up, and sale Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and municipalities to keep projects on schedule Manage development budgets, schedules, and reporting across multiple active projects Act as the execution partner to senior originators, allowing them to stay focused on sourcing Oversee construction administration, change orders, and risk mitigation Support tenant coordination during development, ensuring retailer requirements are met Deliver projects efficiently within a typical 12-14 month development cycle Profile For the Development Manager role, we are seeking: 5-10+ years of experience in retail real estate development or commercial project management Hands‑on experience delivering single‑tenant net lease or essential retail projects (multi tenant is great as well) Strong understanding of entitlement, zoning, permitting, and construction processes Experience with gas stations, convenience retail, or quick‑service restaurant developments strongly preferred Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment Highly organized, execution‑oriented, and comfortable owning the full development lifecycle Job Offer Base salary around $150,000, with flexibility for the right candidate Target total compensation of $200,000-$220,000 all‑in Performance‑based bonus and participation in development fees Opportunity to work alongside a top‑performing market leader generating significant deal flow Long‑term career progression within a rapidly scaling development platform Exposure to a data‑driven investment model focused on resilient, essential retail assets MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
