North Vernon, Indiana (On-Site) $33/hour - Competitive pay based on experience Shift:7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Job Type:Contract-to-Hire (6 months) Industry:Automotive Manufacturing Experience Level:Mid-Senior Openings:1 Visa Sponsorship:Not available Relocation Assistance:Not provided Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Die Setter with powder metal manufacturing experience to join our production team.This role is responsible for press setup, tooling installation, troubleshooting, quality verification, and ensuring safe press operation.Safety and precision are critical to success in this position.Key Responsibilities Set up and operate mechanical/hydraulic presses (Cincinnati 550-ton) Install and align tooling including die cavities, punches, and core rods Adjust press settings such as pressure, compaction speed, and dwell time Inspect compacted parts for dimensions, density, and quality compliance Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues Stop production if defects or nonconforming material are detected Maintain production records (output, scrap, adjustments, issues) Perform preventive maintenance tasks Participate in continuous improvement initiatives Maintain organized workstations following 5S standards Support rework/sorting of discrepant material Conduct shift change procedures (tap & go) Required Qualifications (Must Have) High School Diploma or GED Minimum 3 years experience in automotive or metal manufacturing Powder metal experience (required) Hands-on experience with Cincinnati 550-ton press Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment Knowledge of die setup, material flow, forging presses, and robotics Familiarity with metallurgical properties of ferrous and non-ferrous powders Blueprint reading GD&T knowledge Experience using quality inspection tools (micrometers, hardness testers, CMM) Ability to work onsite and be flexible with shifts/weekends Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) 5years powder metal compacting experience Experience in forging or metal stamping environments Experience with press control software Familiarity with quality management software Exposure to CAD/CAM tools (AutoCAD, Mastercam) What Success Looks Like Successful candidates demonstrate:Strong technical press setup skills Stable work history in manufacturing Ability to quickly adapt to production environments Strong analytical troubleshooting ability High attention to safety and quality standards Work Environment Onsite manufacturing facility Must live within commuting distance or relocate independently Safety-focused production environment Tipo de puesto:Por contrato Sueldo:$33.00 la hora Pregunta(s) de postulaci n:Do you have a High School Diploma or GED?
