Job Description
Mobile Concrete, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain concrete mixer trucks and related heavy equipment. This position is responsible for keeping the fleet operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with DOT and company standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and experienced with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and diesel engine systems commonly found on ready-mix concrete trucks. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on concrete mixer trucks, loaders, and support equipment Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and engine problems Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, and brake systems Service PTO systems, hydraulic pumps, mixer drums, rollers, and water systems Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed Conduct DOT inspections and ensure fleet compliance with safety regulations Troubleshoot issues using diagnostic software and tools Complete work orders, maintenance records, and parts documentation accurately Maintain a clean and safe work environment Respond to road calls or emergency breakdowns when necessary Work closely with dispatch, plant managers, and drivers to minimize downtime Qualifications Experience working on heavy-duty diesel trucks or concrete mixer trucks preferred Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues efficiently Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred Ability to lift heavy parts and work in varying weather conditions Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Preferred Skills Experience with Mack, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, or Oshkosh mixer trucks Knowledge of Cummins, Detroit, or PACCAR engines Familiarity with DOT regulations and preventative maintenance programs Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work under equipment for extended periods Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to work in shop and outdoor environments Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health insurance and retirement options Paid holidays and vacation Stable, year-round work Opportunity for advancement Schedule Full-time Monday–Friday with occasional weekends or after-hours emergency repairs as needed Pay: $24.00 - $25.50 per hour Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Tools provided Vision insurance Work Location: In person
