Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Service Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment. In this energetic role, you'll diagnose, troubleshoot, and service a wide range of industrial and heavy machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly, supporting operations across construction, agriculture, transportation, and industrial sectors. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and air brake systems. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, shocks & struts replacement, and HVAC system servicing. Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, sensors, and control modules with precision. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific repair needs. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently. Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to accurately diagnose issues on farm machinery, industrial equipment, or automotive systems. Assist with assembly of new equipment or components and perform equipment repair to minimize downtime for customers or internal operations. Requirements Proven experience working as a Diesel Service Technician or in a similar automotive or heavy equipment repair role; dealership experience is highly valued. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, brakes (including air brake systems), suspension components, and electrical diagnostics. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including MIG/TIG welding), soldering tools, and other maintenance devices. Ability to read schematics effectively for troubleshooting electrical or hydraulic systems. Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or tractor-trailers; heavy lifting capability required. Knowledge of fabrication techniques for custom repairs or modifications; familiarity with farm machinery and industrial equipment is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and maintenance needs. Valid certifications related to vehicle maintenance (such as ASE certifications), electrical work or specialized equipment operation are preferred but not mandatory.
