Job Title: Diesel Technician (Second Shift) Location: Omaha Nebraska Company: Interstate Power Systems Pay Range: $25.00-$45.00/hour DOE Sign on Bonus: Up to $5,000.00 DOE Shift: Second Shift (2:30pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday) Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Diesel Technician specializing in Freightliner, Detroit Diesel, Allison Transmissions, Cummins products, and other heavy-duty vehicle systems. The Second Shift Diesel Technician will perform diagnostics, repairing, maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and diesel equipment to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during evening hours. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on Freightliner trucks, Detroit Diesel engines, Allison Transmissions, Cummins engines, and other heavy-duty equipment. Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks, to ensure vehicle reliability. Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions. Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot complex engine and transmission problems. Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed using fleet management software. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
