Job Description
Who you are Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or other STEM discipline 3+ years of professional experience designing high-speed digital circuitry Proven experience designing boards using EDA tools such as Altium Designer Experience designing and debugging Xilinx RFSoC / MPSoC-based systems or equivalent platforms Experience debugging SoCs across the bootup stack (baremetal/bootloader/linux) Experience in modeling, simulation, and testing of digital and power electronics Familiar with failure mode effects and criticality analysis (FMEA) Experience designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit boards from concept through production using processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, multi-GHz Serdes, DRAM interfaces (DDR4), I2C, SPI, operational amplifiers, analog to digital and digital to analog converters, and power supply components Deep understanding with configuration and interfacing of memory, volatile and nonvolatile Experience designing power trees with complex sequencing requirements Working experience in voltage and current mode control and compensation design Strong grasp of DC-DC topologies, with ability to select optimal architectures and components Familiarity with power supply testing and packaging for harsh environments Experience selecting and monitoring components capable of performing in a radiation environment In order to comply with the space technology export rules of the U.S. Government, such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), it is necessary to be a U.S. citizen, a lawful U.S. permanent resident, a protected individual as specified by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or possess eligibility to secure the necessary authorizations from the U.S. Department of State What the job involves As a Digital Electronics Engineer on the hardware team, you will be responsible for owning the design, manufacture, test and deployment of highly integrated PCBAs used by a large number of space customers You will work with a small team of software, RF hardware, and FPGA engineers to shepherd the product from initial design to vehicle integration, taking a full-stack approach to building robust space communication systems Design high-speed digital hardware including processors, FPGAs, memory, interfaces, and supporting circuitry Perform trades and analyses of board architecture and component selection Schematic capture and layout of space-grade PCBs Bring-up and testing of new designs Partner with RF engineers, software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing teams and production test teams to drive designs end-to-end Work with mechanical engineers to ensure proper thermal dissipation of devices Work with supply chain counterparts to enable rapid manufacture and iteration of components Design for performance under space-grade acceptance, qualification, and compliance requirements
