Posted Date 5/08/2026 Description This position is for a Principal Engineer that serves in a pivotal leadership role accountable for spearheading complex, critical, and large-scale professional disciplinary areas. This role leads and directs highly skilled engineering teams, requiring a comprehensive understanding of multiple technical domains and their interdependencies to achieve strategic objectives. The Principal Engineer applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions, demonstrating strong commercial awareness. They are generally accountable for the successful delivery of a full range of services, championing an AI-First approach to all solutions and acting as a Design Authority . This role demands excellent communication skills to negotiate internally at a senior level and externally with partners, while exercising control over resources, policy formulation, and strategic planning. They are involved in short- to medium-term planning for their area, with full management responsibility including performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, and budget approval, all while fostering an environment that champions best practices . Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Talent Development: Demonstrate the ability to attract senior talent and build diverse, high-performing teams across multiple functions, both internal and external to the company. Mentor and teach others how to set high organizational performance standards, define performance measures and goals, and establish a strong Leader ship bar. Facilitate understanding of broader organizational tenets and strategic goals for the department, aligning talent development with enterprise-wide needs, particularly in emerging areas like AI. Recognize and proactively address larger-scale development needs within and across teams, building plans to enhance skills in cutting-edge technologies such as React with Typescript , Module Federation/MicroFrontEnds , Java Spring Reactive , Python , LLM , RAG , and Agentic AI Patterns . Share talent development best practices across the organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Technical Vision & Execution: Develop and communicate a compelling department vision that supports the broader organizational vision, ensuring team culture consistently demonstrates alignment with leadership principles and visible ties department decisions to leadership tenets. Lead the Rapid AI Enabled Design and Implementation of successful large-scale, critical, and/or complex software efforts, including both new development and strategic refactoring of existing systems. Heavily influence the technical direction and contribute significantly to critical-path code, acting as a Design Authority to ensure architectural integrity and alignment with an AI-First approach . Champion Resiliency, Observability and Scalability: Architect and implement solutions with a strong focus on high availability, performance, and future growth, integrating robust monitoring and logging practices. Possess detailed knowledge of the work done by the team and proactively work to improve consistency and integration between software components, including those leveraging Module Federation/MicroFrontEnds , and related software owned by other teams. Drive technical and business strategy by making insightful contributions to team priorities, championing the adoption of modern frameworks like React with Typescript and Java Spring Reactive , and exploring new capabilities with Python . Take the lead in identifying and solving ambiguous problems, addressing architectural deficiencies, or resolving areas where the team’s software bottlenecks the innovation of other teams, particularly in leveraging LLM , RAG , and MCP for enhanced functionality. Make software simpler, more robust, and highly performant. Collaboration & Influence: Effectively communicate complex technical ideas to achieve optimal outcomes for the team and customers. Harmonize discordant views and lead the resolution of contentious issues by building strong consensus. Engage in deep Collaboration with Architecture, Product and Business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into robust technical designs and roadmaps. Lead and actively participate
