Job Description
Location: O'Fallon, MO area Hours: Vary and flexible (shifts may be scheduled any day Monday–Sunday) Pay: $20.00–$28.00 per hour (based on experience) Availability: Immediate openings available Position Summary We are seeking compassionate, reliable part‑time Direct Support Professionals to provide one‑on‑one support for an adult who is non‑verbal and has autism and Down syndrome. The role includes establishing individualized goals, implementing support plans, tracking progress, and assisting with daily activities to promote independence, safety, and quality of life. This position is ideal for college students pursuing a special education or direct support career. Primary Responsibilities Develop and implement person‑centered goals in collaboration with the individual, family, and care team (life skills, communication, community inclusion, self‑care, vocational/recreational). Follow individualized support plans and behavioral strategies; apply interventions respectfully and consistently. Provide assistance with daily living tasks (personal care, meal preparation, household tasks). Facilitate community outings, appointments, and social/recreational activities. Monitor and document progress, incidents, and observations accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate regularly with family/care team regarding progress, concerns, and changes in needs. Maintain a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Reliable transportation and availability for varied hours (including weekends). Ability to pass background checks and any required screenings. Strong communication, patience, and problem‑solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred. CPR/First Aid certification. Training in behavior support, AAC/PECS, or person‑centered planning. Compensation & Benefits $20.00–$28.00 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications).
