Direct Support Professional (DSP) assists in the day-to-day support of a 33-year-old high functioning male with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities, who lives in his own apartment in Columbus, Georgia. Duties/Responsibilities Provides transportation and supervision for individual as required to meet employment, recreational and leisure activities. Performs light housekeeping responsibilities to include but not limited to, kitchens, bathrooms, windows, bedrooms, and floors. Maintains all standards when assisting the individual with meal preparation per individuals’ physical limitation(s). Complete all documentation and notes required using the provided ISP daily log. (As required by Georgia DBHDD) Ensures that goals are being completed according to individual’s ISP. Completes behavioral tracking logs as required. Completes all required training. Manages medical emergencies according to the health service plan. Attends doctor’s appointments, transports individual to medical appointments and emergency room as required and requested. Reports to work promptly and on time and does not leave work until assigned shift ends or has approval from supervisor. Must be able to lift and move up to 35lbs with or without accommodations. Must be able to navigate stairs to second floor apartment Required Skills/Abilities: · Ability to assist the individual with dealing with moments (instances) related to inability to self-resolve frustration management. Ideal candidate must exhibit calm and patient demeanor. Must have the ability to redirect the individual upon examples of instances. Behavioral support training will be provided. · Current or previous direct support services experience. Minimum one (1) year. Preference is given for Medicaid waiver support experience. · Proof of valid driving license, and automobile insurance with emergency road assistance Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Ability to use technology to record notes, and log hours worked via EVV app. Required Certifications and Licenses: Must have valid driver’s license with current vehicle insurance, CPR/FA, CPI Pay: $21.50 - $25.75 per hour Benefits Flexible schedule Paid orientation License/Certification: CPR Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
