THE POSITION The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is excited to announce an opportunity to join the leadership team! The Bureau of Product Management has an opening for the Director. This position serves to effectively manage the selection and life cycle of wine and spirits products that meet the demands of Pennsylvania Fine Wine & Good Spirits (FW&GS) customers. FW&GS generates approximately $3.02 billion in annual sales. Apply today! DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position guides the strategic selection, management, and performance of products offered across the Commonwealth. It ensures that product decisions are informed by data, customer needs, and marketplace trends. As a Director, Bureau of Product Selection, PLCB, you will perform the following duties: Product Strategy: Develop strategies for product selection, category growth, and innovation based on data and customer needs Lifecycle Oversight: Manage product performance by analyzing results and directing decisions to expand, refresh, mark down, or discontinue items Vendor Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, promotions, and partnerships with vendors, brand owners, and suppliers Cross Functional Leadership: Coordinate with marketing, merchandising, supply chain, store operations, and ecommerce teams to implement strategic initiatives Performance Analysis: Review sales and category performance data to guide adjustments to pricing, assortment, and promotional plans Team Management: Lead, coach, and develop staff to ensure effective operations within the Bureau of Product Management Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days a week, with two days per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Required Experience, Training & Eligibility QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six years of experience in a retail chain store environment, including two years in a management position that included experience in product purchasing, sales, merchandising, marketing, and business management; and a bachelor’s degree with major course work in marketing, business administration, or closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years in a retail management position that included experience in product purchasing, sales, merchandising, marketing, and business management. Additional Requirements: You must have five years of experience in direct oversight of product purchasing and managing the product lifecycle. You must have five years of experience negotiating pricing with multiple suppliers and establishing new products within the marketplace. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
