Director of Accounting

📍 Fort Lauderdale, FL 💰 $125,000 – $155,000 (Depending On Experience) A long-standing Florida law firm is looking for a proactive Director of Accounting to take ownership of its accounting and finance function. The firm is in growth mode and operates across three Florida branches, and is recognized for its collaborative, close-knit culture and strong employee retention. Its client base includes both public and private companies, including Fortune 500 organizations. Position Overview Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, this role serves as a critical leadership position within the organization. Key Responsibilities Direct the monthly close process and preparation of financial statements Manage daily and monthly financial reporting and cash flow tracking Oversee in-house payroll processing and intercompany accounting functions Deliver financial insights and reporting to firm leadership Lead, mentor, and support the accounting team Assist with selected risk management and compliance initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum of 3+ years in a Controller, Director, or similar senior accounting role (preferably within $5M–$20M revenue organizations) Experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred Strong hands-on leadership approach with attention to detail and operational execution
