Job Summary and Qualifications The Director of Cardiovascular Services plans, directs and supervises the operations of assigned areas. This includes management of staff, budgeting, equipment and service line strategic development for these areas. He/she is responsible for the quality of services, process improvements, and maintaining high standards of customer service for both internal and external customers to include physicians and their staff, patients/family members and the public. Essential Job Functions Provides primary leadership, support and oversight for Non-Invasive Cardiology, Cardiac Rehab, Cardiac Outpatient Imaging and Cardiac Cath Lab. Manages and provides guidance and direction to first line supervisors/charge personnel to include interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, making recommendations for personnel actions, and motivation of employees to achieve peak performance. Is responsible for meeting unit productivity targets. Participates in planning, development and management of operational and equipment budgets annually. Provides financial variance analysis reports in a timely manner. Reviews monthly financial statistics and plans expenditures according to budget limitations. Managers the ongoing implementation of approval plans Gathers and prepares monthly reports on all cardiovascular activities. Ensures collection of pertinent research and report findings to support cardiovascular service line development. In collaboration with key leaders, develops and implements a strategic plan to meet organizational needs and support primary business goals. Monitors department productivity to insure appropriate efficiency of departmental operations. Observance of the conditions of participations, requirements or regulations of The Joint Commission, MS and other regulatory agencies. Promotes the cardiac service line by interacting with key stakeholders such as patients/families, physicians, physician’s offices, and other system or facility departments assuring their needs are met. Promotes a positive image of Cardiovascular Services. What qualifications you will need: Education and Experience: ONE of the following : (Non-RN) Masters in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration with two (2) years management experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or related healthcare field (Non-RN) High school Diploma or GED and ONE of the following: Four (4) years of Cardiac Cath Lab management experience A combination of four (4) years post high school education and Cardiac Cath Lab management experience. Registered Nurse: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable). Preferred Five (5) plus years of hospital and/or multi-facility management experience or healthcare background Experience in healthcare service line development, strategic planning and decision support. Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required: Registered Nurse Requirement: RN license to practice as a professional registered nurse in the state of Texas or active multi-state RN compact license. Employees with a RN compact license are required to obtain a Texas RN license within 90 days of hire date.
