Full Job Description Blast FC Academy is the oldest soccer academy in Central Ohio having been established in 1986. We seek to build a community that inspires everybody to fall in love with the beautiful game. We are in a period of substantial growth and are looking for individuals aligned to our vision. This individual will possess the desire to grow with us, care deeply about our community, and have passion for developing youth players. We are looking for a director and coach who can drive both individual player growth and overall team development for our U8-U12 program. The Coach/Director will play an important role in implementing the Blast FC style of play, helping to create a clear and unified identity throughout all age groups. Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills are essential. Reporting directly to the Club Owner and collaborating with U13-U19 Direct or Coaching, this position focuses on developing youth players in alignment with Blast FC’s Player Development Philosophy and club vision. Reports To: Club Owner Benefits: None (This is a 1099 contract position.) Job Responsibilities Lead training for academy, supplemental, and seasonal team programs, ensuring sessions are engaging, organized, and development-focused. Manage all facets of assigned teams, including planning, communication, and player development. Run effective training sessions that align with the club’s developmental philosophy. Support each athlete’s growth by offering clear, constructive, and age-appropriate feedback. Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and continuous improvement as a coach. Uphold club policies and all youth-safeguarding standards, ensuring a safe and positive environment for minors. Collaborate with Blast FC Academy leadership to design and carry out a strategic approach to player identification and recruitment. Recruit, evaluate, mentor, and develop youth soccer players within the club pathway. Assist with additional teams, club programs, and special events as needed. Perform other tasks necessary to support the success of the club and its players. Qualifications & Skills Experience coaching youth soccer players across a broad age range (ideally 5–19). Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with staff, families, and players. Proven discretion and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive information. Specialized knowledge in a related youth development field (e.g., goalkeeping, performance training, video analysis, education, sports medicine, psychology) is a plus. Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. High personal standards for ethics, integrity, and quality of work. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel for games, tournaments, or club events when required. Work Location: In person
